Harry Potter is a series of the novel in which Harry Potter who is a fictional character, a boy wizard created by British author J.K. Rowling. These were the subject of seven incredibly celebrated novels (1997–2007), which were later modified into eight films (2001–11); a play and a book of its script appeared in 2016.
The novels tell the story of the lives of a young wizard named Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. All these characters are displayed as students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The basic story revolves around Harry’s battle against Lord Voldemort who is the villain of the novel. Voldemort has been shown as an evil wizard who aims at becoming immortal. The novel narrates Harry Potter’s efforts in overthrowing the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic and defeating all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people).
Harry Potter was initially introduced to the world in the novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (in 1997, also released as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). In that novel, Harry Potter showed up as an orphan who is mistreated by his guardian uncle, aunt, and their son. In the story, on his 11th birthday, Harry finds out that his actual parents were a witch and a wizard and eventually he himself is a wizard. He then was asked to join the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He also discovers that his parents were not deceased in a car accident, as told by his so-called uncle and aunt. Rather, he found out that his parents, while fighting for good, had been killed by the evil wizard named Voldemort. Harry, being the only person to have ever resisted an attack by Voldemort, was assumed to be the one and an only wizard who can defeat Voldemort.
Harry left with a lightning-bolt-shaped scar on his forehead, after backfiring the attack of Voldemort. Undoubtedly, Harry’s mysterious survival was proof that only he could fight the evil Voldemort. Due to this incident, Harry became a topic of discussion and thus a prominent figure in the “wizarding” community. At Hogwarts, Harry made many new friends and rivals. Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger became Harry’s fast friends. He also found a rival in Draco Malfoy. He was taken under the wing of the school’s headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. These relationships survived throughout the series, especially as the young wizards and witches grew older and are called upon to grab sides in a thriving wizard battle.
Unknown to Harry along with the wizarding world in general, Voldemort was intending a return to power. Voldemort, being weak and ineffective was residing as a parasite in a follower’s body, was attempting to kill Harry at the beginning of the story that is narrated in the first edition of the novel. In the fourth volume, named Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000), Voldemort gets back his body and old strength using a magic ritual. Eventually, regained his powers and then, his army largely expanded in number. Harry with his fellow supporters that some of his teachers, several classmates, and other members of the wizarding community fought against the evil wizard, Voldemort and his disciples, including the Malfoy family. The epic fantasy story concluded with Harry acknowledging his role as the iconic “boy who lived” and confronting almost certain death in the battle against the evil wizard. With help from those who cherished him and believed in him, he was able to rise up victoriously.
Harry’s saga continued in the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which premiered in 2016. In the production, which was based on a story co-written by Rowling, Harry was married to Ginny Weasley. Harry became the father of three children – first one, named James Sirius, then Albus Severus, and next to Albus was Lily Luna. In the play, Harry has been shown working for the Ministry of Magic but he continues to fight with his past. Whereas Albus has been shown maintaining his father’s legacy.

The Harry Potter series proved extremely famous among youngsters and grown-ups all around the world. All the editions of Harry Potter’s novel were bestsellers that were available in more than 200 countries and in about 60 languages. The manifestation taught new terms—such as a new explanation for the word muggle, an individual who has no magical powers—into the common glossary. The novel was converted into a blockbuster string of eight movies (the final book, some 750 pages long, was altered into two films) released over 10 years, which grossed more than $7 billion worldwide. Jointly, the book and movie series generated a massive amount of related merchandise, and in 2010 a theme park prompted by the franchise opened in the United States.
